If the answer is yes â€“ the Pride of Abu Dhabi Awards wants to hear from you.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi Awards is the Capitalâ€™s first community awards,
nominated and voted for by the local community, to give recognition to
inspiring individuals, businesses, initiatives or organisations who has
gone above and beyond to give back to the local community.
There are fifteen awards categories to enter, and it is completely free to
register your nominations before the closing date on 11th October 2018.
The submissions will then go to the public vote, which goes live on the
18th October 2018 to select the five nominees in each of the prestigious
award categories. The winners will be announced at the pride of Abu Dhabi Awards gala event in December.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi Awards covers three categories Gold, Emerald
and Diamond. The Diamond category will give recognition to individuals
and community initiatives awards. The Spirit of the Community Award â€“
for the person who embodies the spirit of the capital and is an integral
part of the community. The Special Recognition Award â€“ for the person
who has gone above and beyond to give back to the community. The
Best Inclusion Initiative â€“ for campaign, programme, group of event
dedicated to the inclusion, empowerment and awareness of people of
determination in the community. The Leadership Award â€“ for an
individual who has created a significant positive impact in the workplace
and wider community; and the Young Achiever Award â€“ for an individual under 18 years old who has made a positive difference to the
community through caring, volunteering, awareness initiatives or
The Pride of Abu Dhabi â€˜Emeraldâ€™ Awards sector will honour
achievements in sustainability, sport, government, arts and
entrepreneurship. The School Sustainability Award â€“ for an educational
institute dedicated to implementing sustainable change in the classroom
and beyond. The Best Contribution to the Arts â€“ for a company or group
dedicated to boosting the arts in Abu Dhabi at a community level. The
Favourite Sports Initiative â€“ for an active initiative that inspires the
community to get fit and instils healthy habits for life. The Favourite
Government App â€“ for a programme or application that drives the UAEâ€™s
vision for a smart future; and the Entrepreneurial Award â€“ for a
person(s) that has launched a business of service in Abu Dhabi in the last
two years to cater to a gap in the market.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi â€˜Goldâ€™ Awards sector will give recognition to
entertainment, culture and restaurants. The categories include Favourite
Event â€“ for a live, sporting or community event, concert, exhibition,
performance or festival. The Favourite Day Out â€“ for an attraction or
activity in Abu Dhabi. The Favourite Cultural Experience â€“ for an
attraction or activity that shares and celebrates local and international
culture and values; and two Favourite Restaurant awards across casual
dining and fine dining.
