The safest city in the world, #MyAbuDhabi!

Have you tried leaving your bag on a table in the middle of a busy Abu Dhabi mall food court and returned to it still being there and fully intact? Or have you ever found yourself coming home late at night and not being worried about walking the streets alone? Yes, that is the essence of Abu Dhabi’s safety that you feel right there.

Both the leaders and residents of Abu Dhabi take pride in the city’s standard of safety, and it looks like the world has recognized that about our beloved city as well. Abu Dhabi has been named the safest city in the world by Numbeo, a website that curates and collates data to develop the world’s largest user-contributed database about cities and countries worldwide.

Over the past six months, Abu Dhabi has had the lowest crime index of just 13.54 while having the highest safety index of 86.46, being far ahead of the second-place city, Basel, Switzerland in the scores for overall safety. The capital has scored 94 per cent for a general feeling of safety in the city by respondents who have stated that Abu Dhabi has very low crime levels. From being named the second-best city in the world to live, work, and do business in last month by Ipsos City Index, Abu Dhabi is proving itself even more to global audiences by the new recognition that it has garnered.

Director General of TCA Abu Dhabi, HE Saif Saeed Ghobash stated, “Abu Dhabi has a solid reputation for safety with a virtually crime-free society. It is a priority when choosing a city to visit or live in and provides peace of mind knowing that you can feel safe anywhere you go in Abu Dhabi. The result of this index supports Abu Dhabi’s position as the leading city in the world to live, work and do business in, and highlights an aspect of life in Abu Dhabi that is a matter of great pride to all residents.”
