Stretching to Help a Social Cause:
A Proven Step Ahead of the Career Ladder

A study by Harvard has revealed that one of their secrets to getting promoted quickly is doing Stretch Assignments. This is done by getting out of your comfort zone and learning new things beyond what you know at present for you to learn and grow.

If this stretch assignment isn’t available within your company, you can try searching outside of it (with your boss’s approval of course J).  Sharing your expertise and devoting some of your spare time for a start-up company who has a social cause (like supporting a business that provides parts of its profits directly to charity) will reflect a positive merit to your career path. You can share what you experienced to your company to provide innovative solutions that you believe will propel your company to greater heights!

This doesn’t mean that we should rest on our laurels though – we should find means to cooperate in our own ways to help preserve the beauty of Mother Earth.

Just Eat It: A Food Waste Documentary

Whether it is delicious food cooked from home or meals served at a posh restaurant, we enjoy every moment of savoring the flavours of each bite. But have we ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of “unwanted” food? The documentary “Just Eat It” shows how the filmmakers managed to survive a six-month ordeal feasting on discarded food from the grocery stores and from their friends and family’s fridges.
