Lenovo has launched the IdeaPhone K900 as a flagship product. IdeaPhone K900 has a 5.5 inch full HD 1920 x 1800 pixels IPS display. Powered by a 2GHz dual core processor and 2 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It has 13 megapixel rear shooter with Sony Exmor RS lens and a 2 megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. K900 has 2500mAh battery that the company says would last 15 hours of 2G talk time. It is priced AED 1999 at all major electronic outlets across UAE.

NSA’s access to Microsoft’s services

BBC reports that Microsoft helped the US National Security Agency get around its encryption systems so the agency could more easily spy on users of its services. Quoting The Guardian, the report states that the NSA had access to most of Microsoft flagship products including Hotmail, Outlook.com, SkyDrive, and Skype.

Iris Scans are the new school IDs

CNN news: Kids lose their school ID’s but they don’t often lose their eyeballs. That’s one of the reasons a growing number of schools are replacing traditional identification cards with iris scanners. James Hammond, head of Winthrop University’s Information Technology department said, “Iris scanning has a very high level of accuracy, and you don’t have to touch anything”. The technology is being deployed from New Jersey-based security company Iris ID.
