Under his Black Halo

One example is Sultan Saeed Al Darmaki, an Emirati born on the 24th August 1982 in the city of Abu Dhabi. Graduated from New York Institute of Technology in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources. Apart from being the owner of Al Darmaki Group of Companies, he is also a freelance writer who self-published his first book “Under My Black Halo” in late 2010 and contributes to Gulf Today Panorama magazine on his column “Impromptu” as well as doing some photography.

One of Sultans inspiration is life itself, “because life is a dynamic entity there will always be moments felt by it that would inspire anyone to try to capture it via pen or camera.” For an Emarati who has been writing for almost three years and recently took up photography almost 9 months ago, he believes that anyone can do what he does, all it takes in a little patience, a little dedication and most important of all is self-motivation. Just like this nation that has developed so quickly is so little time, Sultan finds inspiration in the memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, because of what he has done for his country as well as for the rest of the world, “I am compelled to follow in his footsteps and try to do my part for the Emirati and global community.”

While most people find adjusting to this glorious and giving city a challenge at times, it is now a part of me, I remember as a child having so many happy memories and yes even though some times were hard I always found some comfort here in my home knowing that the residences of this place will always be taken care of one way or another, Sultan supports the same idea because he thinks that In another 40 years time, we will still be enjoying the same level of prosperity and peace we had in the past 40 years, only difference is that it will be shared with more people

His words of wisdom to the new generation of this nation to motivate them towards a better future is to do two things simultaneously, to learn from the Emirati culture and the great men and women of this country to know why it is important to be proud of yourself, and to explore the world so that they might open their eyes to different walks of life in order to develop a better understanding of humanity.
