dmsfungi is an emergency physician visiting Ukraine. He shot this photo with his iPhone on January 23 at the entrance to Dynamo Stadium in Kiev. He went there to survey the damage caused in the recent street protests. Heavyweight boxer Vitali Klitschko showed up to support the protesters (he’s the one wearing the fur black and grey hat). ‘This high profile person came to this seemingly menacing environment to show his supporters that he does indeed stand by them, and he literally did. The reaction was civilized, despite what could have erupted, given the presently terse environment at present.’

“while taking a look at what had happened overnight, a large crowd started to swarm near me and there were a lot of agitated voices. Then, there in front of my position with a backdrop of burning tires and thick black smoke, was Vitali Klitschko.
