Line Dancing for Women- A Fun Way to Exercise

When you have a great idea, you need to get started somewhere. Otherwise the ideas get buried along with your hopes. Let me introduce you to an inspiring Dhabi Dame, who’s newly come into our Abu Dhabi scene.

Hari Turner was one of the “volunteer” line dance instructors for the senior citizens (per AARP, senior citizens start @ 50 years) in College Station, Texas before she moved to Abu Dhabi about 2.5 months ago. Husbands are known to try out all avenues on how to make their wives feel happy and content at a new environment. No wonder that Hari’s husband encouraged her to start thinking that she should continue the same previous “volunteer job” in the line dance business in Abu Dhabi.

So we have Hari Turner offering her Line Dancing teaching skills voluntarily as in Church Station, TX. She says, “I would like to have all efforts to pursue this business as “free”.  Nothing is coming into my pocket; the same thing should happen in the other direction that nothing should come out from my pocket.“

This goes out the women of Abu Dhabi. Grab this chance. Here is your opportunity to maximize your health in a fun way. Mistakes, we will make, maybe even miss a step or two but in time, it will be set right. You can be sure you will make at least one good friend. This goes out to all those women who sit at home, getting heavy in the lower regions and wondering what to do about it.

Hari is 66 years old and giving her free time here in AD to help people to exercise. The benefits are astounding when you exercise to be healthier and happier because of the combination of dancing with music.

The second class, hopefully, will be at the Khalidiya Ladies Park, Abu Dhabi. She plans to hold the class in the morning for the ladies who are free then.   Hari is still working on the process with the AD Municipality Office for a “permit” to use the park for “free”.  Once the “permit” is obtained, we can look forward to a “morning” line dancing class only for ladies.

Apart from the health benefit, joining an activity also helps to increase your social skills. You learn to become friends with people who aren’t your age. Hang out with people whose first language is different from yours. Shake a leg with someone who’s from a different social class. Then your worldview expands. And then you grow into a good being the way God intended you to be in the first place.

Life is short.

Smile while you still have teeth.

Dance while you still have legs.

Listen while you still have the music.
