Macro Photography, also known as close-up photography, is used to capture small size objects. It can be broken down into three categories, first is the simple “close-up” in which the subject is less than life-size, second is “macro photography” in which the subject size is vary from normal life-size to 10X life size and lastly there is “micro photography” of images captured with microscopes and that require a greater than 10X enlargement of the original subject. To accomplish the task of macrophotography any DSLR will work, but you will need a specific macro lens since you will be shooting very close to subject. Since the light coming through lens will be minimal a ring flash or macro flash attachment is highly recommended.
