A cityscape is the urban equivalent of a landscape; it is an artistic representation of the physical aspects of a city or urban area. In the 17th century cityscape became an independent genre, also popularized in paintings. To capture beautiful cityscapes one must carry any good SLR, DSLR or a mobile camera, which can provide a good range of long exposure settings. You also need a wide-angle lens and a good tripod. During the day you don’t need to worry about long exposure since there is always a good amount of light. Shutter speeds can go from 1/80 to 1/4000 depending on available light and the setup you have selected; but for night photography you will need a steady tripod, long exposure and a shutter release to avoid any possible shake when pressing the shutter button.
