Fashion photography is a mainstay of commercial photography, and one that is growing due to ecommerce. You can achieve good results by preparing the dresses before the shoot (e.g. ironing, fix wrinkles, stains and other issues relating to storing or transporting prior to use). It helps to use a mannequin or a live model to show the shape and draping of each item. You should always take more than one shot and perspective. Also be sure to use appropriate location or lighting setup and you must avoid using high ISO as it will add “noise”. (Try to keep your ISO below 600 – an ideal setting would be 100 or 200). Use a tripod and an aperture of about f/9.0 or above for good focus control. Be mindful of white balance and experiment with editing and cropping to get that perfect shot.
