Star Trail Photography
Featuring the works of photographer Arslan Mughal
Star trail photography utilizes long-exposure times to capture the motion of stars in the night sky due to rotation of earth. A star trail image displays individual stars as streaks across the image, with long exposures resulting in longer streaks. Typical exposure time for a star trail ranges from 20 seconds to several hours, and requires a ‘bulb’ mode on the camera to open the shutter for a longer period. You also need a tripod and a remote shutter release.
