Summer Outdoor Portraits

It is always a challenge to take summer outdoor portraits especially since it’s so hot! While a shaded location can give some relief, it is very hard for your subject to stand in the bright sun. A large diffuser can help cut down light and shadows to mitigate the effect of hard light on your subject. In outdoor photography you can also get a haze in the background that is caused by humidity. One way to deal with this problem is to expose according to the background light and to overpower sunlight by using high power flashes. This way you can keep the details in the background and properly expose your subject within the frame. Reflectors help create beautiful soft light that can enhance your portrait.
I took these photos at Al Aqah Beach in Fujairah.
