The event is an Open-Weight Grand Prix in MMA for a whooping grand prize of 1,000,000 Dirhams. The May show was received with great enthusiasm by MMA and non-MMA fans alike.
Under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, I SEE is officially announcing Round 2 for the 22nd of October, 2010. The event will be taking place at ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Center) again as it did in Round 1.
October 22nd will be the grounds for a new round with new fighters and as such, an exhibition of new skills. Organizers promise that Round 2 will be an explosive showcase of the returning Heavyweight Fighters alongside new Side Fighters, guaranteeing a spectacular show. The four qualifiers from Round 1, Shamil Abdurahimov, Neil Wain, Marcos Oliveira and & Sokoudjou Nkamhoua are taking part in the Championship Fights in the Semi-Final stage of the three-part championship. The winners of this Round will move on to Round 3 for the final fight, the winner walking away with 1,000,000 Dirhams and the ADFC Title.
In the Round 2 Fight Card, Brazilian Pan American champion Marcos Oliveira will go up in the cage against British Total Combat Ultimate Force Heavyweight champion Neil Wain. In the other Championship Fight, Russian 5X champion in Wushu-sanda Shamil Abdurahimov will face off against Cameroonian 2001 US Judo Open champion Sokoudjou Nkamhoua for a chance to move on to the finals.
In accordance with the organization’s directive to provide a high quality regional platform for new MMA talent to display their skills, Round 2 is hosting a new roster of Side Fights. The organization was overwhelmed with the positive response of fans and the flood of requests from fighters to participate in the coming Rounds. And while it was difficult to choose, using careful and rigorous selection criteria, I SEE is presenting an updated Side Fight Card for this Round.
Round 2 will see the return of Emirati MMA champion Hassan Al Rumaithi, the first Emirati Mixed Martial Artist, and other Round 1 favorites Miaco Reiter, Abdullah Abou Hamdan, Malik Omarov and Tam Khan. The Round 2 Side Fight card will also feature new fighters and new local talent as well fighters from a broader range of countries than those in Round 1.
