Why do we take good health for granted? Have you ever taken the time to consider what it must be like to have a stroke, a heart attack or to lose an arm or leg? What’s life like afterwards? Imagine trying to walk, and your body no longer listens to your mind.
“This is the reality” (thanks JH), but there is an upside. You, can help yourself, young or old.
Wait up, help ourselves?! As in, I need to do something for myself?? “But I have a ‘busy’ schedule!!!” Yes precious, you’re on your own on this one, and no one can really help.
Can you indefinitely avoid a major medical meltdown?? I am not sure, but I do know that “an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure”. I see plenty of elderly folks with NO medical problems, and plenty of young folks with many problems.
Consider this, for those of you who own a nice car, do you fill up premium petrol? I would think so. Yet at the same time, why will some of you eat nonstop fast foods almost daily. And not even think about that choice.
Simple lifestyle modifications will almost heal everything. Eating healthy is a great start. Please don’t confuse eating well, with gorging on large quantities, as opposed to eating quality and making smart food choices.
How about a small amount of exercise? It’s no conspiracy theory; it’s all over the news and in every magazine on the planet (we have also discussed it here before): it really works!!! You don’t need a boot camp variety, several times a day, every day….just a small form of exercise will help.
Now, combine smart food choices, portion control and exercise…you are on a roll!!!!
Stop smoking, less stress, walk, a positive attitude, be nice, smile, don’t drive like an “donkey”-hole, etc…Follow me?
If you’re still unsure, find your local hospital and volunteer. This may be your necessary rude awakening.
Plenty of folks would rather walk in your shoes, than wake up in their’s daily. Cherish your good health, and never take it for granted.
