Trailer Out For Frozen 2 And It’s Nothing Like The First Part

RELEASE DATE: NOVEMBER 22, 2019
DIRECTORS: JENNIFER LEE, CHRIS BUCK

Disney fans around the world were in for a treat yesterday as the entertainment company dropped the first trailer to the sequel of 2013’s much-loved animated musical, Frozen. At almost 10 million views in 17 hours, fans have been speculating various theories as the trailer carried an unexpected vibe to it, contrary to its first part.

Mini Review:

The trailer begins with Elsa facing a raging sea. With a serious and determined look on her face, the first 40 seconds of the trailer shows Elsa trying to cross the sea amidst the storm – with her icy powers making a comeback, duh. From there on, the trailer picks up its pace and shows us moments that leave us with a billion questions – with Anna looking out of the castle to floating diamonds, to Kristoff and Sven on a chase backed up by several fellow reindeers (must be Sven’s friends),  Anna attempting to jump off a cliff and Elsa being surrounded by fire and using her icy powers to stop it, with Olaf clinging onto her.

Something that really caught my eye was the difference in Elsa and Anna’s appearance.

Definitely looking more older and matured, both the characters have seen the changes one would go in 6 years. Elsa has ditched her famous, flowy gown for a much simpler outfit for a Queen.  And a ponytail? Girl YES!

Anna, on the other hand, has said goodbye to the braids and now dons a half-up, half-down hairstyle.

The entire trailer has a very dark and mysterious feel to it, poles apart from its prequel.  The background music and the animation has definitely seen an upgrade and fans agree with this, as they have taken on all social media platforms to express their excitement.

Leaving us wanting more, here are some moments that caught everyone’s attention:

CAN WE HAVE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS, PLEASE?

1.HAVE WE STEPPED INTO A DARK ERA?

2. WHO ARE THESE TWO NEW CHARACTERS? – RELATIVES, LOVE INTERESTS … OR VILLANS?

There are seems to be speculations that one of the girls could be Elsa’s possible girlfriend. With fans signing petitions for Elsa to come out as gay and the writer of the movie, Jennifer Lee, considering giving Elsa a female love interest, we cannot wait to know more about these characters. If the above rumors are to be true, then Elsa would be the first Disney princess ever to have a girlfriend.

3. HOW TO WAKE UP TO A VIEW LIKE THIS?

Okay, but can we talk about the animation please!

Fans were quick to spot the diamonds in this scene where the same as the ones shown on the movie poster. Any connection?

With such stunning visuals and animations, we can’t wait for Disney to drop more trailers that will have much different vibe and focal points (more of Olaf).  What do you guys think?
