Yassin Daoud
2012 Resolutions:
Travel a lot, learn a new language, study psychology and hit the gym.
Update:
“Well, I am in Egypt now so does that count as travelling? I have begun studying Chinese and Italian but I haven’t hit the gym or started studying psychology as yet.”
Manar Al Hinai
2012 Resolutions:
Go to Hajj, learn Spanish, expand her clothing business and end the year as a writer for the New York Times.
Update:
Manar plans to go to Hajj in November, she has been picking up Spanish by listening to a tutorial CD in her car, has begun stocking her designs in a boutique in Dubai and is still hopeful about writing for the New York Times.
Tamsyn D’souza
2012 Resolutions:
Shed 15 kilos by the end of the year, travel to either Spain or Italy, own a house and go on a Hollywood- style romantic dinner for the first time in her life!
Update:
Tamsyn said she had been watching her eating since February and while she hadn’t officially checked her weight, she felt she had lost about six kilos. As for the rest…“I just came back from Spain, and I didn’t have to pay a cent. My dreams came true with work ironically sending me there for training. I have been looking at options and communicating with people about a house of my own and as for the dinner, this hasn’t progressed very far. LOL! But there’s always hope!”
Simone Carvalho
2012 Resolutions:
Focus on her studies, eat less chocolate, become a better photographer and be a better person.
Update:
Simone wanted to focus more on her studies as she had to write her IGCSE’s this year. “I did end up becoming more focused on my studies. I planned and laid out everything clearly which enabled me to not become too distracted while studying. For my last two resolutions, I kept thinking it over and came to the conclusion that time and more life experiences would make me a better person and practice would improve my photography.” As for her resolution to eat less chocolate, Simone admits she caved. “It’s CHOCOLATE!”
Jose Tuano
2012 Resolutions:
Improve as a photographer, as a person and become less lazy.
Update:
“I’m working on trying out some modelling photography over the summer. I’ll also be travelling a lot this year and next year which should be great for my photography. Being less lazy is still being worked on, haha! And as for being a better person, I’m always working on that!”
James Franklin
2012 Resolutions:
Play in a concert, do well at university (University of Wollongong in Australia) and get a fantastic job doing something awesome in the media industry before the year ended.
Update:
“I have set myself up on SoundCloud and have had a couple of record labels express interest in possibly signing me. As for university, this semester hasn’t been as fantastic as the first one but I’ve been able to maintain a consistent credit average so I’m sort of keeping it. I have not found a job as yet but I have been playing an extremely active role in UOWTV, my university’s television station, as well as joining a production company created by some of my friends. We do projects every so often.”
