MY FIVE RESOLUTIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR
The beginning of a new year is the time which many take stock of their lives and endeavor to make a fresh start to improve themselves or their lifestyle. Most of these self-promises involve getting rid of bad habits such as smoking, drinking, overeating and replacing them with healthy diets, exercise and other good practices.
The time is here again for the most popular holidays celebrated by many expatriots (or expatriates) living in Abu Dhabi. They are Christmas and New Year’s Eve….I could count Thanksgiving but that was last month and is rarely celebrated outside of North America. Funny enough, even the USA and Canada observe it on separate days!
I was talking to a British buddy of mine the other day and we were discussing how when we go back to our respective countries our friends and family are strangely uninterested about our lives abroad.

I had some time off so I decided to go to Thailand for two weeks. Why Thailand? It is relatively inexpensive, beautiful and the people are some of the nicest in the world. I stayed in Thailand all this time for what three days in Europe would have cost me.
