Dubai-UAE: 13 March 2013 – Founder of the Maria Cristina Foundation, Maria Conceicao will begin her journey to scale Mount Everest on 31 March 2013 to raise awareness and funds to support the educational needs for the impoverished slum dwelling children of Bangladesh.
Joining Maria on her quest to battle poverty through education is Etihad Airways cabin-crew member Denitsa Boyadjieva, who organized three bake sales with the help of 60 volunteers at the Etihad Airways Headquarters, its training academy, and the airport crew briefing centre. Over AED 15,000 was raised out of which AED 5,000 will go to cover her trek expenses and the remaining will be donated to the Maria Cristina Foundation.
