We’ve all heard of them: South Beach Diet, Atkins Diet, Grapefruit Diet, Low-Carb, Low-Sugar, the list goes on. Packing on the pounds? Well, apparently you can actually trick your body into feeling full with these tips!
- Have a banana and water in the morning
- Sniff a piece of fruit (an apple or even some peppermint)
- Eat like a king at breakfast, a prince at lunch, pauper at dinner
- Tie a piece of ribbon around your waist before going out for dinner…or tighten your belt!
- Put a mirror in front of you as you eat…this will make you more conscious!
- Add more C’s to your meals — chili peppers, cayenne, cumin, coriander/cilantro, cardamom, cinnamon, or curry !
- Fast every other day, this helps reset your stomach for better digestion
- Eat a sandwich instead of a full-on meal (without side dishes)
- Go Bento … only eat what you can fit inside a bento box
- Focus on five colours…green, yellow, orange, red, and brown (includes meat, bread, or even tofu)
- Eat group style or share a plate with a friend!
- Immediately pack away half the portion for later
- Occupy your mind by exercising, chatting with a friend, getting involved in volunteer work!
- DON’T FEEL GUILTY… ironically by feeling guilty, you’ll eat more next time!
