World4Good Blueprint: Human-Focused Solutions that Work
“As people learn more about what’s happening in the world around them refugee crisis, and especially as the U.S. and our government make certain policies that in the case right now are not very beneficial, not very in favorur of the refugee community, there are companies that are now educated about who a refugee is their legal status, and their ability to work. Companies call us, saying, ‘We would love to be a part of their story.” –Chris Chancey
The unresolved refugee crisis has inspired social entrepreneur Chris Chancey to come out with an innovative solution that could harness power of the ever-growing refugee build-up to meet the skyrocketing demand for the workforce.
Chaney realized that he was destined to do something great for humanity. His experience working in his small-time family business and local community merged with his talent for corporate management and nonprofit leadership roles, to create a successful recruitment opportunity. The idea was that industries would get a legal and skilled workforce in abundance from Amplio while also helping to mitigate the refugee crisis. He saw an opportunity to solve the refugee problem by addressing the labour shortage crisis.
Meet Chris Chaney
Meet Chaney the CEO and founder of Amplio Recruiting, a talented staffing recruiting agency that positions refugees with several job opportunities across the U.S. Chancey established Amplio Recruiting in 2014, soon after relocating to a refugee community on the outskirts of Atlanta, Georgia. His mindset on helping hardworking refugees has put over 5,000 refugees that migrated from over 40 countries employed on a full-time basis within more than 300 companies in the manufacturing, construction, and tourism sectors.
Chancey is also a venture capitalist and the author of the book ‘Refugee Workforce’ had articulated how refugees impact the economic stand of the country if unemployed. He believes that one can leverage business to stimulate the economy and create stability for disadvantaged people. Chris’s plan aims to spur employment growth in the industry workforce. This came to him when he and his wife moved into a refugee community where the seed for change was planted.
How has Ampilo Recruiting Changed Life?
Amplio Recruiting offers legal and dedicated refugee workforce employees to several companies across the U.S and to any company that approaches them. Chancey lives by the famous Chinese proverb “Give a man to fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you give a man an occupation that will feed him for a lifetime.”
His company teams up with educated members from the refugee community to provide deserving candidates a second chance. This works both ways, as the employees are committed and work with passion to benefit the company that gave them them the opportunity.
All employees have to be drug-free and go through a background check. The also have to be fluent in English. Amplio Recruiting is that it provides a pool of highly motivated and legal workforce, unlike agencies that draw from the same labor waterhole of candidates with higher demands.
Some Refugee Facts
It is estimated that in every minute, at least 20 human refugees leave their homes and flee to other countries for a better life, due to war, poverty, or natural disasters. Another statistic predicts that almost 65 million people globally are considered refugees.
With a predicted tsunami of refugees globally, the need for labour will continue to increase, and given a chance, refugees must be part of the solution.
