Khalid is based back and forth between Abu-Dhabi and Houston, Texas. He writes, illustrates and designs for Tempo. Khalid also writes and illustrates comics, sometimes under the pen name "Colin Henry," and he currently has a graphic novel coming up entitled "Exulansis," anticipated for a 2020 completion.
