2 - Etrian Mystery Dungeon

Etrian Mystery Dungeon

Platform: 3DS

Status: Releasing in April 2015

While RPG fans might already be used to the turn-based combat that Etrian Mystery Dungeon offers, this game requires strategic positioning (think Final Fantasy Tactics) for you to get through the dungeon with maximum rewards and loots. Players who are accustomed to the franchise will be familiar with the classes such as Runemaster and Landsknecht as they customize each character with their own Etrian-style skill trees. Take up to four party members to course through dungeons filled with traps, puzzles and monsters as you train them and get the much-awaited prize at the end! So for those who are eager to traverse the Mystery Dungeons, the small village of Aslarga welcomes you as an adventurer searching for fame and fortune. May the odds be with you!

3 - Titan Souls

Titan Souls

Platform: PS4, Vita

Status: Releasing in April 2015

Don’t let the simplified graphics fool you: combine the one-boss-focused game Shadow of the Colossus with the one-fault-and-you’re-dead challenge of Dark Souls. The result is the game above: Titan Souls. Players will find themselves in challenging chasms, dangerous dungeons and seemingly unbeatable bosses as they go through several stages as a lone adventurer who just wants to find his way out of this realm. Bosses have their own weak spot that you have to determine and no, you don’t have to aim for any prizes here – no character upgrades are available which makes the game more skill-oriented instead of the usual finish level>get upgrade gimmick that most games had for years now. One of the best effects in the game is that each time you die, the music, the camera focus – everything just stops, leaving you time to think of the best strategy to avoid such a demise from happening again. Gamers who love a hardcore challenge will find themselves grinding hours at this game to master it!

4 - Telepath Tactics copy

Telepath Tactics

Platform: PC, Mac, Linux

Status: Releasing in April 2015

When gamers hear the word “Tactics”, the first thing that might come to mind is “Final Fantasy Tactics” with its intricate class system and turn-based battles. Telepath Tactics takes those two elements further by taking in more features from recent tactics games like Disgaea and Fire Emblem to create a game that will have you sit for hours training all your units to perfection. While you’re given the usual swordsman-archer-mage-healer classes, it has other interesting characters like the cavalries who’re able to dash in and out of the combat area in an instant. While other RPG games allow a “revive” feature, Telepath Tactics takes that away and has the “Permanent Death” feature, forcing gamers to always be on their feet to take care of all their units or else they will lose them for good. What’s great is that you don’t have to play this game on your own – if you have a gang of five buddies to play with you, you could go on a cooperative campaign and beat the living daylights out of the bosses. So if you’re up to the challenge of a tactics game, this one’s up for grabs.
